If you want to vote by mail, you must sign up to do so before August 6 for the fast-approaching August 18 Primary Election. And if you think you’re already registered to vote by mail in Florida, think again.
Voting by mail allows you to take the time to review and research all the candidates and issues on your ballot, fill it out in the comfort of your home, and mail it back to be counted.

Gov. DeSantis and his legislative allies made numerous unnecessary changes to Florida’s voting laws in response to Trump’s falsehoods about a “stolen election.” Among the more burdensome changes is a requirement that Floridians who vote by mail must now request a mail ballot every general election cycle.
This means that, if you haven’t already done so, you must re-enroll with your county supervisor of elections to vote by mail in Florida’s upcoming elections. Also, your friends and family must be registered to vote by this coming Monday, July 20, to vote in the Primary Election.
Act now: the August 6 deadline to request a mail ballot for next month’s primary election is fast approaching. Please note that you’ll be required to provide your Florida driver’s license number or the last four digits of your Social Security number when signing up to vote by mail.
Florida’s political leaders should be making it easier, not harder, for citizens to participate in the democratic process. We’ll continue working toward that end, but in the meantime, if you wish to continue voting by mail, request a ballot through your County supervisor of elections website today.
