TALLAHASSEE – The Courts Matter Florida Coalition is launching a nine-stop statewide tour to educate Floridians on how our judiciary works, what judges do, and why courts matter through an interactive session called “You Be the Judge.”
The series of interactive trainings will be led by Laura Guren Rodriguez of the National Council of Jewish Women. Attendees will participate in a virtual court proceeding based on an actual case, after which the outcome of the case will be provided, with discussion to follow.
“Judicial decisions impact our rights and lives, so it’s critical that events like the You Be The Judge tour not only educate citizens, we must also mobilize our communities to speak out and take action on critically needed judicial reforms,” said Rodriguez.
These events are part of a broader effort to uplift education on the judiciary, which are being led by the Courts Matter Florida Coalition.
